eBuy Homes publishes Polk County's assessed values for residential property in Des Moines, Iowa. We are not currently buying or selling property.

We are not your agent

We are not a licensed real estate brokerage, agent or appraiser, and we do not represent you in any transaction. Nothing on this site is advice about buying, selling or pricing a property.

We recommend you have your own real estate agent or attorney review any agreement before you sign it, and we will never discourage you from doing so.

Assessed values are not valuations

The figures on this site are Polk County's published assessed values, reproduced as the county records them. Iowa Code 441.21 requires property to be assessed at market value, but an assessment is not an appraisal and is not a sale price. A particular house may sell well above or below it. Assessments are also revised by the county on their own schedule, so a figure here may lag theirs.

If our figure differs from the county's own records, theirs is authoritative and ours is a mistake.
